Dai Igarashi is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). Growing up with his loving parents and grandparents, young Dai has a particularly close relationship with his mother Akiko. However, as he grows older, he becomes frustrated at how his family differs from those around him. As a young adult, he moves to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming a writer. But his experiences there force him to reassess his own upbringing - and, in particular, his relationship with Akiko. In this beautiful and heartwarming drama, director Mipo O takes great care in sensitively portraying both the Deaf and CODA experiences.
